The PPPC is working with the Blantyre City Council in attracting an investor to invest in minibus terminal infrastructure and systems. BCC wishes to acquire services for the provision of Professional Car Park Automation and Management Service in Blantyre and Limbe. The investment amount for this project is US$2,033,000.00.
The underlying contract for the Service shall be in the form of a Design, Build, Operate and Transfer arrangement. The contract period is 10 years.
The Project Facility shall be constructed through a phased-out approach within a period of one year.
The Council will provide rights to the investor for the collection of User charges, parking fees and rentals from commercial agreements with third parties.
The project will cover Blantyre and Limbe zones;
Blantyre Zone encompassing Blantyre Market Car, Mibawa Minibus Terminal, Old Blantyre Bus Stands and Chilobwe Minibus Terminal and Limbe Zone encompassing Limbe Minibus Terminal, Limbe Market Car Park and Limbe Bus Depot.
Webtribe from Kenya has been selected as the preferred bidder for this project.
