PPPC Showcasing Success Stories and projects in the pipeline at Malawi-EU Investment Forum
The Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) participated in the inaugural Malawi-EU Investment Forum, held at the BICC in Lilongwe 26-27 November 2024, an event that brought together key stakeholders in investment, trade, and economic development. The forum was officially opened by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, who emphasized the need for innovative partnerships to drive sustainable economic growth.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, PPPC Chief Executive Officer Patrick Kabambe underscored the significance of the Commission’s participation.
“Our presence here is a testament to our commitment to fostering partnerships that align with Malawi’s 2063 development agenda. Engaging with the EU investors and other stakeholders is critical, as it provides an opportunity to showcase how PPPs are unlocking value and attracting investment into key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and trade,” said Kabambe.
The exhibition by the PPPC drew significant attention from investors, who were impressed by PPPC’s mandate to facilitate bankable projects. The Malawi-EU Investment Forum is expected to yield long-term benefits by strengthening ties between Malawi and European investors. The PPPC’s participation at this milestone event reaffirmed its position as a catalyst for economic transformation through innovative public-private partnerships.
